Business and technology service company Logica, has won a contract from paper, packaging and wood products company Stora Enso, for the provision of IT infrastructure services.
Through the three-year contract, which begins in January 2011, Logica will provide IT infrastructure services to all Stora Enso’s production facilities in Finland.
Under the terms of the agreement employees currently working at Stora Enso will transfer to Logica.
Logica said that it will provide IT services to approximately 8,000 users and 6,000 workstations.
The agreement includes IT services to end users, server and workstation management, and in addition network and database management and development.
Stora Enso regional IT manager Kimmo Hoikka said that for the company, cost effectiveness and flexibility are critical.
"Not only will our contract with Logica help the cost structure to be more flexible but we will also benefit from Logica’s established service and their long experience of providing IT services," Hoikka said.
The contract has the option of a two-year extension.
