The 3G contract includes hardware, software and services for the roll out of the UMTS network. Libertel-Vodafone will begin offering 3G services to its customers commercially by the end of 2002. Ericsson already supplies GSM including GPRS to Libertel-Vodafone and this agreement continues Ericsson’s relationship as sole supplier for both the Core and Radio Access Network (RAN).
