LG Electronics has expanded its Cookie Series with the launch of two new devices, Cookie Plus (LG GS500) and Cookie Fresh (LG GS290).
The company said that the Cookie Series offers social network service (SNS) connectivity and includes features such as LiveSquare, cartoon-styled UI with colourful theme options. It supports downloadable applications including The New York Times, eBay Search, Amazon Search and Fox News.
LG Cookie Plus is a 3G handset that is centered on social connectivity and supports downloading and running applications, real-time push e-mail and web browsing. LG Cookie Fresh (LG GS290) boasts a new design and offers features found in the original Cookie but comes in a sleek package and soft outer grip as well as in 16 bold colour variations.
According to LG, the sociable features of Cookie Plus include smart and intuitive SNS interface for connecting on Facebook and Twitter, LiveSquare, updated version of Cookie phone’s speed dialing home screen; and editable Screenshot MMS.
In addition, the new phone features an animated interface, MPEG 4 video, MP3 audio playback support, FM tuner, 3 megapixel camera with digital zoom and Muvee Studio.
The Cookie Fresh features a simple SNS connector for direct access to social networks with Facebook and Twitter interface, LiveSquare; Cookie Speed Dial; cartoon-styled UI and customisable colour themes; and a 2 megapixel camera, the company said.

LG Cookie Plus (LG GS500) is expected to be available worldwide this month after making its debut in France and Italy, while the LG Cookie Fresh (LG GS290) is expected to be available in over 60 countries following its introduction in Germany and Russia.
