In reporting preliminary results including net profits up 13% to the equivalent of $9m on turnover up 35% to over $1,300m, leasing company Europe Computer Systems reports that the number of microcomputers it has sold in France has increased by a massive 80%, with revenue from service activities in that country up by 30% to $38.3m. ECS Germany, whose results have been included for the first time, contributed sales of $66.7m to total turnover, while ECS claims that other new divisions, not yet incorporated in the total results, have all seen increases in profitability. Establishment of a pan-European distribution network was cited as one of the reasons for growth in profit and sales.
