Software Publishing Corp has launched Harvard Graphics Windows v3.0, designed for quicker and easier use than the 2.0 version. It is available now and costs ?300; users of previous versions, either MS-DOS or Windows, or of competitive products can upgrade for ?100. This version has been designed with users’ comments in mind and has a number of features that help people with little or no experience in design. It has templates for a selection of commonly used presentations such as annual reports called Quick Presentations; Quick Advice, does just that as do Advisor Design Tips and Quick Tips; at the end of creating a presentation there is Advisor Design Checker that shows any breachers of cardinal design rules. Harvard Graphics Windows v3.0 also includes 15 animation clips in the Animation Player, to jazz up presentations and the 5-Minute Coach to speed up the learning process. This version is electronic mail-enabled, speeding up the sending of entire presentations. There is also a preview function so users can have a preliminary look at the finished product. To use it requires an 80386- or 80486-based personal computer running Windows 3.1 with 4Mb of memory; 9Mb of hard disk space and Video Graphics Array.
