KPNQwest granted temporary reprieve

Bankrupt telco KPNQwest, appears to have been granted a temporary reprieve from complete closure, following the news that trustees of the company have agreed to keep the company's European fiber optic network open until July 1.

The decision by the company’s trustees will give KPNQwest more time to find a buyer for some or all of the its assets. KPNQwest’s customers will also be given more time to find alternative network operators.

A number of companies are reportedly planning bids for the bankrupt company. The latest company to be linked with a bid is the Irish corporate telecommunications service provider, eTel Group.
