Kendall Square Research Corp is a company going places specifically from its present base in Waltham, Massachusetts to a 336,000 square foot office campus in the Bedford-Burlington area of Greater Boston, to be named Kendall Square Research Park: it has taken a 10-year master lease on the property, with an option to buy outright, to be its new headquarters, housing administrative, technical, manufacturing, and marketing operations; the move is set to start early next year; the site, which has a Bedford address, was chosen after an intensive search that began with the company taking a pair of compasses, putting the point on its present base and drawing a six-mile radius circle on the map so that it could be sure the facility would be readily accessible for employees, transport arteries, and Logan Airport – oh yes, and the site was formerly the international computer training facility for Digital Equipment Corp, which moved out in 1992.
