James Cannavino, who had been doubling as general manager of IBM’sPersonal Systems line of business and president of the Entry Systems Division personal computer arm, which looks after PS/2 and PS/1, OS/2 and all display terminals,since September 1988, has been relieved of the latter post to give him more time to be visionary: the post goes to Robert Corrigan, who was president of the IBM Systems Technology Division, Technology Products line of business – the chip-making arm, and he will report to Cannavino; he is succeeded at chips by Lutz Hahne, who was assistant general manager, financial analysis; it is hoped that Corrigan will speed launch of new products.
