Midscale web publishers will soon be offered an integrated document management and e-commerce package, thanks to a technology and marketing partnership between Minneapolis-based Intranet Solutions Inc and Zuno Inc, a subsidiary of London’s Zuno Ltd. Zuno’s Kevin Fuller believes that between the very high-end publishers targeted by Documentum and OpenText, and the lowest-end outfits who don’t see a role for any sort of document management, there is an unmet need for both pay-per-view and subscription capabilities bundled with text searching, navigation and metadata facilities. We are looking at groups that don’t necessarily have huge IT staffs, he says. Their choice is either to involve some integrators, or to look at something that will do their content management without that scale of deployment of expertise and expense. The partnership will see the companies joining intranet Solutions’ Intradoc! Document Management System with Zuno’s Z- Commerce. A product is expected in the third quarter, 1998, and on Zuno’s side at least it will be eagerly awaited. We’re expecting tens of millions of dollars worth of business for us, says Fuller. á
