For a two-month period, starting on 21 February 2001, Interactive Investor will sponsor 20 of Internet Exchange’s high-street-based web cafés across the UK. The sponsorship includes in-store display advertising, joint promotions and links to Interactive Investor’s site via Internet Exchange’s homepage.

The agreement is seen as a crucial component of Interactive Investor’s 2001 ISA marketing campaign, providing an offline presence to support and promote its online tools and services.

In addition to the sponsorship of Internet Exchange’s flagship stores, Interactive Investor will also be running an exhibition stand at five of London’s main train stations – Waterloo, Paddington, Liverpool Street, Euston and Victoria – from 26 February running through to 14 March and an ISA competition, with three prizes worth GBP7,000, GBP4,000 and GBP2,000 respectively. These initiatives will be supplemented by a combination of targeted press and poster advertising, electronic marketing and direct mail.

Commenting on the marketing campaign Candice Hodgson of Interactive Investor said: The ISA season offers an excellent opportunity to turn our one million registered account holders into transactors. Over the coming weeks, we will be implementing a new campaign that combines the best of online and offline marketing techniques. The agreement with Internet Exchange will give us a high profile, high street presence during the crucial weeks of the ISA buying period.

Interactive Investor’s Individual Savings Accounts (ISA) Centre offers up to 5.25% discount on initial charges on selected funds; access to over 400 funds and 29 UK fund managers; and, following the recent agreement with leading Independent Financial Adviser, Towry Law, offline and online support and transaction capabilities, throughout the ISA season. The new centre will feature fund launches and fund promotions and will provide customers with all the tools required to identify, compare, monitor and buy ISAs, regardless of their level of financial knowledge. It aims to offer convenience, value and choice from one multi-channel service.
