Sunnyvale, California-based Inxight gets Intelliseek’s Enterprise Discovery Suite (EDS) search platform which provides federated search, multi-lingual and alerting capabilities. It also picks up a sizable EDS base of government and enterprise customers.
EDS has been re-branded as Inxight SmartDiscovery Awareness Server, allowing Inxight users to automatically trawl across multiple data sources and be proactively alerted to new results.
Additionally Inxight will also bring on board the entire EDS team who will be relocated at new offices in Cincinnati, Ohio – the same city where Intelliseek is headquartered.
Both companies have been close partners since 2002. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Commenting on the sale, Intelliseek CEO Mike Nazzaro said: Our goal is to be the undisputed leader in measuring and analyzing consumer-generated media [CMG].
Nazzaro said the company’s customer base continue to ramp-up nicely on a pressing need to better understand online buzz – informal, yet valuable, knowledge that is typically held in public message boards and blog sites.
This sale lets us expand our marketing-centered product suite and more aggressively pursue a market that recognizes word-of-mouth behavior as a trusted from of advertisement, Nazzaro added.
Intelliseek’s flagship platform is BrandPulse, which measures CMG from a variety of online consumer sources like Usenet newsgroups, Internet forums and boards, blogs and internal company feedback sites. Last year the company launched its BlogPulse analysis and search portal, which the company claims has identified more than 11 million blogs to date.
