The company aims challenge traditional DSP business models to develop DSP technologies that can be licensed on a widespread basis and not just commissioned for one or two companies. StarCore will also be in charge of licensing its products and intends to change the face of the competitive DSP market to encourage their proliferation and also reduce their production costs.
DSP technology can enhance functions such as voice compression and voice recognition, digital music and video compression. The parent trio believe that the new company will benefit from Agere’s and Motorola’s experience and leadership in the DSP market and Infineon’s technological expertise.
