Yes, the strap IBM Announcements on the Next Inc page in Friday’s issue was unintentional, but the confluence of interest of both companies to damage Apple Computer Inc as much as possible was underlined by a feature in the Metro section of Friday’s New York Times: there can be few readers of Computergram who do not immediately think IBMsville when they hear the name Armonk, New York, and the piece in the Times was all about Armonk’s H C Crittenden Middle School and its parents’ night the other day, at which all the parents who showed were sat in front of school computers – only trouble is that in the Times’ pic, ever parent was sitting in front of – an Apple Macintosh.
