Professional Cadam Interactive Solids Design Version 3 Release 3 is said to offer a high level of integration with the Professional Cadam 3D Surface Design product. The three-dimensional wireframe construction and edit ing are identical between the two and the three-dimensional wireframes developed in either can be transferred to the other. Also, the surfaces that make up an ISD solid model can be transferred to the Professional Cadam Surface Design product through the Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines drop-off feature. Solid models can be created and these can be used to generate hidden line removed views and shaded renderings. Also, running on the RS/6000, Version 3 Release 3 can be operated under Resource Licence Manager. Available December 27, a single licence is $945 and the multiple licence is $756.

Intelligent Data Integrator 3.3

Professional Cadam CADEX Intelligent Data Integrator Version 3 Release 3 is a new tool that is said to facilitate the production of intelligent Cadam drawings, ranging from assemblies to schematics. It provides an interactive icon and panel-driven system that enables users to create parts, assign attribute data to parts, store parts in libraries and manipulate parts on a design. Users can easily assign non-graphic information, such as attribute data, to components of the drawing. The information contained in those attributes can then be extracted using batch programs, which are included. The Intelligent Data Integrator also supports user-defined dynamic queries from the Oracle database. The nested set capability enables users to organise library data and hierarchical relationships enable users to specify detail when referencing different levels. Running on the RS/6000 Unix family, the Intelligent Data Integrator can be operated under the control of the Resource Licence Manager. It’s available in the US on December 27, and the primary licence is $4,345, the single annual licence charge is $765 and the multiple annual licence is $613.

Cadam MCAE Interfaces 3.3

The MCAE Interfaces program provides transfer of wireframe and surface data from Professional three-dimensional Surface Design to finite element modelling systems. Supported systems include CAEDS Graphics Finite Element Modelling, MSC/XL from MacNeal-Schwendler, and PATRAN from PDA Engineering. Solid models developed using Interactive Solids Design can be analysed using the combined power of the ISD Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline drop-off facility, the MCAE Interfaces program, and target vendor systems. Available December 27, the primary licence is $3,310, a single annual licence is $585 and a multiple licence costs $470.

Cadam AEC Schematics 3.3

The Cadam AEC Schematics Version 3 Release 3 program provides tools for checking logic errors in plant schematics. It is built on the CADEX Intelligent Data Integrator program for creating intelligent, hierarchical schematics. It provides capabilities for extracting data from those schematics to produce reports, and the data is extracted as from-to lists, line and component lists. It’s out December 27, and a primary licence is $3,120, a single licence is $550, multiple licence is $440.

Micro Cadam Plus Version 1.3

Micro Cadam Plus Version 1 Release 3 is an a set of tools for mechanical, facilities, general design, graphics documentation, and manufacturing applications. New features include an Operation Macro for storing the operation sequence, and this sequence is stored in an MS-DOS file called a scenario file. This file can be played back so that the geometry is recreated in a user-defined model and a new Interactive Data Manager adds functions like pull down menus and model identification from a list. New Batch Plotting capabilities enables output generation for multiple models with one MS-DOS command, and other enhancements include 18 line styles, line widths, variable text symbols, single key display interrupt, modal line style one, and improvements to the external file translator product, which is the DXF file translation utility. Running on

a PS/2 and available now, a program package is $4,000 with upgrades costing $1,200.

Micro Cadam Data Exchange 1.1

Micro Cadam Data Exchange Version 1 Release 1 enables the transfer of two-dimensional engineering data between the Micro Cadam-personal computer-based computer aided design system and CATIA host and workstation-based systems. It enables users to derive Micro Cadam-compatible drawings from the CATIA database and exchange data between the two systems. Conversely, the interface provides Cadam users with a way to produce CATIA compatible drawings. Available from October 25 in the US, the Data Exchange facility costs $1,500.

Micro Cadam 3D 1.3

Micro Cadam 3D is an enhanced computer aided design system for three-dimensional design. Wireframe models, surfaces, and parametric solids can be generated by a single integrated program and the underlying mathematical formulation and resulting surfaces entities are based on Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline. Available now, a program package is $1,200 and a program package upgrade is $252.

Micro Cadam Data Transfer 1.3

Micro Cadam Data Transfer Version 1 Release 3 is an enhanced version of the utility for exchanging Micro Cadam data models with host Cadam Interactive Design and workstation Professional Cadam Interactive Design. A full-screen, data-entry procedure is used to specify source, target and option information while physical file transfer is accomplished via 3270 file transfer methods or via a user-supplied method. Available now, a package costs $1,500 and an upgrade is between $200 and $210.

Micro Cadam Geometry Interface 1.3

The Micro Cadam Geometry Interface is a software library that enables the creation of applications which have access to the Micro Cadam drawing database. Micro Cadam data is then available to the application and new data can be stored in the database. Individual Cadam elements and element groups can be interrogated, created, and modified, and the information can be either geometric or non-geometric. New features include variable text symbols, line style 2, line width, and special two-byte character support. Available now, a Cadam Geometry Interface program package costs $500 and upgrades are either $200 or $210 from Release 2.1.
