Irvine, California-based Viacore develops a suite of software applications that helps companies integrate better with their business partners and suppliers.
Its main offering is BusinessTone, which the company refers to as an on-demand partner integration solution, that synchronizes data between buyers and suppliers and provides follow-on maintenance and support to ensure smooth and accurate data flows between both parties.
Viacore will be absorbed into IBM’s recently established supply chain consulting practice which provides procurement, logistics, strategy and planning and analytics services to support B2B settings.
IBM and Viacore have been close partners since 2003, the same year it announced its Business Integration Connect 4.2 software (which is now part of its WebSphere line of integration software) to let companies share trading information with their with their partners. Viacore was enlisted to provide additional services to help build up and support online trading communities.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Viacore was founded in 1999 and has its roots in the RosettaNet organization – two its founders also founded RosettaNet.
