Hughes Network Systems has introduced HX Multi-Satellite Gateway to perform network management and bandwidth assignment functions.
The new HX Gateway is pre-wired for multi-satellite/multi-transponder expansion and could be customised to support additional satellites through the HX Expansion Kit.
The company said that the new HX Gateway comes with enhanced features which benefit satellite broadband operators. It includes Enhanced TCP/IP acceleration processing to increase throughput capability of HX routers; and End-to-end VLAN tagging which facilitates management of VLAN partitions.
The company also said that the new HX Gateway offers the option to include Configurable Demodulation Subsystem (CDS) which supports 10 Msps of return channel throughput and is configurable with up to nine separate TDMA channels.
The 10 Msps CDS supports Doppler correction and spreading inroutes, which reportedly is suitable for broadband mobility applications on planes, trains and ships.
David Jupin, vice president of international division at Hughes, said: Our new HX Multi-Satellite Gateway has been designed to unlock the maximum value from high-quality, IP broadband networking, including specialised applications such as mobility and mesh.”
