In an attempt to cash in on the booming application integration space, Hewlett-Packard Company yesterday announced the formation of a new consulting-service portfolio designed specifically to address businesses’ integration needs. HP said the service is designed to help customers integrate their heterogeneous business applications and processes, such as enterprise resource planning software to supply and demand chain management and front end applications.
Our new EAI service portfolio is an essential component of HP’s e-services vision, Ulrich van der Meer, worldwide manager of extended manufacturing at HP Consulting, said in a statement. Businesses are struggling to manage the multiple applications in their companies. HP can integrate those applications and develop the appropriate processes to manage them and use them as they were intended.
HP said it will leverage products from BEA Systems Inc – its first strategic partner in the EAI space – and services from International Systems Group (ISG), a consulting firm that specializes in delivering EAI solutions, as part of its offering. ISG and HP will share best practices, and the two companies will collaborate on projects and work side-by-side on joint customer projects, the company said. In addition, HP will use BEA’s eLink suite of EAI solutions.
With BEA eLink, companies can integrate the key processes, platforms and applications in their back and front-office environments, as well as rapidly integrate with other businesses to quickly capitalize on e-commerce opportunities, HP said.
