Hewlett-Packard Co has completed its deal to acquire Siemans AG’s automotive design application software tools for power-train electronic control units – the electronic controls used in cars for managing the engine, gearbox and other functions, on undisclosed terms (CI No 3,109). HP will put them together with its own engine emulation, logic analyzer and has exclusive rights to market the products in the US and Asia and will develop next- generation versions of the tools. Engineering and manufacturing will be transferred over the next few months. HP will have worldwide marketing rights by year-end.
