In connection with its annual OpenView user conference, Hewlett- Packard Co has announced new relationships with Netscape Communications Corp and Intel Corp – the significant partnerships it hinted at last week (CI No 3,421). HP has announced that Netscape has chosen HP OpenView Ready technology as the basis for managing its next-generation messaging technology, Troopers ISP. Netscape will bundle OpenView Ready in a future version of Troopers ISP to offer management capabilities to for internet messaging systems running on the technology. HP says the Java- based GUI in OpenView Ready will offer platform independence and easy access to managers of the messaging applications built on Troopers ISP. Meanwhile, HP and Intel have extended their relationship by announcing that HP’s Network Node Manager will offer expanded support for Intel’s management offerings within its Wired for Management initiative. Intel has integrated Node Manager with its LANDesk Client Manager, LANDesk Server Manager Pro, Intel Server Control server management tool and Intel Device View installation and configuration tool. The integrated Server Control product will be available later this month, while the others are available immediately.
