According to the company, the service will allow any user in Hong Kong, irrespective of their internet service provider, to legally download five movies for free.
Whilst all ISP users in Hong Kong can access the service, the only restriction is an 18 minute download time out, effectively ruling out all but those with the fastest connections.
It is no coincidence that among the elite group likely to benefit from the service are HKBN’s own metro Ethernet subscribers whose 100mbps connections will allow them to download 4GB DVD format movies in less than seven minutes.
