San Jose-based Helios Systems has announced HeliosCOM+, a communications module for Sun Microsystems SBus-based workstation users. HeliosCOM+ incorporates a modem, facsimile support and simultaneous speech and data communications, and fits any Sun workstation with one unused Sbus slot and connection to a phone line. Two users can view and alter the same X Window simultaneously from their separate screens, while talking in full-duplex without voice degradation, over the same line. The modem is a V.32bis 14.4bps NetModem, facsimile uses Group III PostScript inputoutput. The module also contains an answering machine. Other workstation users can also access the product via node-access.
