King of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based Human Designed Systems Inc and Lotus Development Corp have a joint promotion offering a complementary node licence for Lotus 1-2-3 for Sun Microsystems Inc Sparcsystems Version 1.1 with some models of Designed Systems’ ViewStation FX Series of RISC-based X Window terminals: the ViewStation FX Series includes colour, monochrome and grey-scale models, with screen sizes from 14 to 35; the terminals are designed around an 80860CA RISC CPU running at 30MHz; Ethernet is supported through thinwire, thickwire and twisted pair ports, and two serial ports and one parallel port are included for local printing or running the X system over serial lines; up to 72Mb of memory can be added to the ViewStation FX using SIMM modules, and full versions of both the Open Look and Motif window managers run locally in the ViewStation FX Series.
