HCL will offer its e-Manufacturing solutions, which are aimed at the emerging SEMI standard Interface A for equipment data acquisition, in an attempt to improve process performance for semiconductor manufacturing. This software is also expected to help develop an Interface A solution for hi-tech manufacturing.

Interface A refers to a new port on manufacturing equipment, used for sending data from the tool to the factory systems. It enables fabs to have access to detailed process, measurement and operational data from fab equipment, and is intended to complement and overcome deficiencies of the existing SECS/GEM port on fab tools.

Anup Mathur, project director for HCL’s e-Manufacturing initiative, said that HCL’s solutions will help reduce time-to-market for customers’ products while customizing them to suit specific customer needs.
