Dedham, Massachusetts-based Harris & Jeffries Inc has added a new software extension designed to enable Frame Relay traffic to run over Asynchronous Transfer Mode networks, to its range of subsystem offerings. The new Soft-ATM module is said to be compliant with the combined ATM Forum-Frame Relay Forum BC Service Interworking Implementation Agreement, FRF.8, and is being pitched at hub, switch and router manufacturers wanting a fast time-to-market system for integrating Asynchronous Mode capabilities into their existing kit. Running under Windows NT and Windows95, Unix, NetWare and embedded kernels including VxWorks, pSOS+, LynxOS, Nucleus and OS-9, it is to cost between $15,000 and $60,000 per target system, with volume discounts available.
