Globecomm Services Maryland (GSM) was selected as a tier one subcontractor from the prime contractor who was awarded a $106 million contract, which includes a base year and four one-year options. The purpose of the Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is to provide management of the department’s information resources for its CONUS and overseas operations. As a tier one subcontractor, GSM is positioned to provide network management, LAN/WAN equipment resale and maintenance, network/telecom services, planning and analysis, professional services, security and other outsourcing related functions for the next five years.

Bill Raney, vice president and general manager of GSM, said: We appreciate the confidence shown by prime contractor and the Department of State in the global capabilities and infrastructure of Globecomm. Like the US Army’s worldwide satellite services program, for which Globecomm is one of six contractors, the hybrid information technology services for state program (HITSS) program provides mission-critical support for people serving our nation around the globe. We’re proud to be part of that continuing mission.
