Venture capitalist group 3i Plc is backing The Graphics Technology Group Ltd of Maidenhead, Berkshire to the tune of UKP500,000 to finance marketing of its new range of corporate electronic publishing software products. The group was formed earlier this year by the merger of the desk-top publishing consultants DHA, the software producers PIPS and the computer graphic arts consultancy Sadd & Sadd. The money will be used to bring the Group’s two new products to the burgeoning marketplace for graphic arts in London and the Home Counties. The group’s main product is DataBase Publisher which links corporate databases with desk-top publishing and typesetting systems so that information held in mainframe, mini or micro databases can be turned into publications. The company also markets the mailshot database tool Merge! as well as Formfill for use in export documentation. Current customers for the Group’s products include Legal & General, Volvo, Reed Publishing and Iron Trades Insurance.
