Granada Computer Services International, part of the 4,000m British pound Granada Group Plc, reckons it is now number two computer maintenance and services company in Switzerland following acquisition of the Field and Services Division of Alcatel MDS. Granada Computer paid an undisclosed cash sum for the $7.2m-a-year Swiss operation, which brings desktop and network expertise to Granada. It has offered employment to all staff of the Alcatel division. Granada Computer’s European managing director Gordon Towell said the firm is also looking to grow its European disaster recovery operation, and will soon announce acquisition of a French disaster recovery company – thought to be a Hewlett-Packard Co shop.
