Search giant Google has updated its iOS search app with enhanced voice capabilities, adding a voice-recognition service that resembles Apple’s Siri personal assistant.
The updated service is expected to better recognise the context and intent of user searches while providing the Google search results that user know, the company said.
The voice search has features of Google Now including the look, sounds and a voice assistant which can read the search results.
With the new iOS search app, users claimed to find the audio searches more comprehensive and relevant information in query results, the company added.
Google’s Knowledge Graph will give the snapshot view of the search queries to help the revamped search technology understand people, places and things in the real world, it added.
Upon opening the free Google Search app on an iOS device, the user will be greeted with a "Try our new voice search" message above a microphone icon on the main page.
The new service will work on any Android devices that come with 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, and now has been optimised for the latest iPhone and iPad models support for Apple’s iPhone 5.
