Fujitsu Ltd claims to have developed the world’s first general purpose processing chip for a neurocomputer, reports Newsbytes Japan: the integrated neuro chips would facilitate the development of various products that could learn new rules and procedures by themselves, says Fujitsu, citing a robot, installed with the integrated circuits, which might become more skilled as it gained experience, or an intelligent sensor that could be designed to learn by the sense of touch; Fujitsu is planning to market a general-purpose board designed to be front-ended by a personal computer and workstation, packing some 200 of the neuro chips on it, during the summer.
