North Andover, Massachusetts-based FTP Software Inc has unveiled Explore Version 2.0 for Windows, a variant of its Internet access application for remote and mobile users. Also announced is OnNet for Windows Version 2.0, an upgrade of its personal computer-based TCP/IP networking offering for enterprise and workgroup users. Both now feature KEYview document viewing and information access technology from Calgary, Alberta-based Keyword Office Technologies Ltd, which it acquired last February. This will enable users to view and print fully formatted word processor, graphics, image and spreadsheet files received from the Internet via electronic-mail, the Mosaic browser, Gopher+ or File Transfer Protocol said the firm. The offering also includes Mail OnNet, an electronic mail application supporting Multipart Internet Message Extension and Messaging Application Programming Interface standards, which incorporates automatic mail management by filtering according to user preferences, said FTP. In addition, it features the Launcher task manager for one click access to Internet applications. OnNet 2.0 provides Internet applications including Mosaic 2.0, Multipart Internet Message Extension and Messaging Application Programming Interface-supported OnNet Mail electronic mail, together with a Gopher+ information retrieval tool, said FTP. It also features Interdrive 95, a Windows95-ready Network File Server client, to support end user access to public printers and directory or file systems on computers running a Network File Server as if they were on a local personal computer. Both will be out later this quarter, when pricing will be announced.
