French teleconferencing services provider Genesys SA moved into the black in 1998, reporting a net profit for the year of $220,000 on revenue that was up 29%, at $20.9m. The previous year it had reported a loss of $330,000.
The company, which debuted on the Paris stock exchangeÆs Nouveau Marche last year said its operating profit of 0.7m euros ($770,000) was lower than expected due to investments in two subsidiaries acquired last year, namely Summons Conference Calling in the US and ConferTel Pty Ltd in Australia.
The Vincennes-based company said its expectations for 1999 were that, on a like-for-like basis (not including its acquisitions), it should see revenue growth of 36%, to $28.3m, while total revenues including the businesses acquired last year, should reach $40m.
