Small Internet service provider FlexNet Inc is claiming it has been unfairly picked on by America Online Inc because AOL has blocked all FlexNet subscribers from sending anything to AOL accounts because a spammer sent unsolicited mail to AOL subscribers supposedly from a FlexNet account. In fact, says Houston, Texas-based FlexNet, the spam originated from an AOL account, of all places, and was only relayed via FlexNet. The company claims that it has to spend a lot of its technical resources dealing with spam from AOL and the giant online service provider has so far ignored all its attempts to sort out the matter.
