The European Business Group Ltd has the first in a new range of high-powered non-impact printers, the European Jumbo Jet HP-F100. Jumbo is an apt description, as it weighs 2,138 lbs, and measures five feet by six and a half feet. Developed by Hewlett-Packard Co and marketed by Fareham, Hampshire-based European Business Group, it claims capacity of 100 sheets per minute and 2m per month, at 300 dots per inch resolution. It supports all major mini and mainframe hosts, Hewlett-Packard mini systems, ICL Oslan, Ethernet TCP/IP, and uses Hewlett-Packard PCL Level 4 language. It offers 16Mb standard memory, expandable to 64Mb in 16Mb increments. Interface options include SCSI, IBM Channel, IBM Twinax and ICL Oslan, as well as Xerox compatibility options with the 4050, 4090 and 9700 range. It is priced from UKP135,000, depending on the configuration and is available this month. Two further models in the line are planned for later this year.
