Ericsson to supply Sonera DWDM systems

The contract using the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing system will increase the data transmission capacity of Sonera's domestic telecommunication networks as a stage to meet the increasing demands for broadband access.

We want to provide reliable and fast 3rd generation multiplexing network service solutions, such as IP service concepts, to our clients. Being a cost-effective solution, the DWDM system gives us a competitive edge in the marketplace, commented Sonera in a press statement.

The new system will fit in the extant network which from Russia via northern Europe to the US.
