Storage subsystems integrator Emulex Corp, Costa Mesa, California has turned its semiconductor activities into a stand-alone operation as the Emulex Micro Devices division, and has tapped Kenneth Davis, former assistant vice-president, worldwide marketing and sales at NCR Corp’s microelectronics division, as president and general manager of the new division. The chip business produces devices for embedded storage and Small Computer System Interface controllers, and Emulex sees the operation as one of the best growth opportunities over the next several years.
