Games developer Electronic Arts Inc plans to bring out games over the next year that support three dimensional eye technology from privately held H3D Entertainment. Electronic Arts has also agreed to distribute the technology.The wireless H3D Eyewear System is a proprietary system that includes wireless, lightweight 3D eyewear with optical lenses that make images appear to come out of the screen so users can experience 3D content when playing H3D-enabled PC games. To use the system players plug in a transmitter and VGA adapter to their PC and put on the eyewear.Cupertino, California based H3D Entertainment will work with its content creators to provide the development expertise and tools needed to incorporate the H3D-enabled standard into their products. The H3D technology is also backward compatible, so that previously released games, movies and other media can be H3D-enabled. In the spring , Electronic Arts of San Mateo, California and H3D Entertainment, a specialist in consumer visual 3D, plan a full scale rollout of H3D-enabled games, and a worldwide retail launch.The H3D Eyewear System costs $100.
