Electrogig has come out with GIG3DGO version 3.0, which includes GIGOrganic, a tool for animating and modelling human characters, animals and plants, claiming that animators can automatically design and animate organic characters with natural behaviour characteristics. It is based on spline curves and surfaces which can be interactively controlled to model and animate skins and skeletons. It features field rendering that renders a single frame of animation as separate fields, to give smoother motion in interlaced video television format. It has GIGLookz, an improved interactive attribute and texture editor and GIG Render Manager that creates and manages distributed computing for rendering stills and animations on multiple systems in a networked environment. It will be out in January.
