The Board of Granada Compass announces that at the Extraordinary General Meeting held earlier, the resolutions to approve the demerger of the hospitality business of Granada Compass and relating to the consolidation of the listings of Granada Compass and Granada Media were duly passed.
In addition, all other resolutions proposed at the Extraordinary General Meeting (including the resolution to change the company name to Granada plc) were duly passed. Details of these resolutions are set out in the notice of the meeting contained within the circular posted to Granada Compass shareholders on 18 December 2000.
Granada Compass expects the Demerger to become effective on 1 February 2001, with dealings commencing and resuming the following day in the two newly created focused world-class groups:
Compass Group one of the world’s leading foodservice and hotels groups; and
Granada Compass (to be renamed Granada plc upon completion of the Demerger) a major independent media group.
