Commenting on its fiscal third quarter figures, opposite, Novell Inc says that for the first nine months of 1994, separate Novell revenue was $1,056m and excluding the benefit of $81m in one-time royalties in the second quarter of 1994, the revenues represent a 20% increase from the year-ago period. Novell said WordPerfect revenue was $456m in the latest nine months, down a disappointing 10% from $507m a year earlier. The 1,750 job cuts planned will bring the total down to about 8,250 for the new company. Third quarter 1994 costs from the WordPerfect merger and the purchase of the Quattro Pro business resulted in $120m in charges.
