Salt Lake City, Utah-based Dayna Communications Inc has announced a company restructuring that includes the creation and funding of two new subsidiaries. Dayna Communications says it will remain focused on product development, sales and marketing for the local area network segment of the industry, while the new units will develop technologies and products for the remote access market and for wide-area wireless communications. Our commitment to our core business as a local network products provider will be strengthened through this restructuring of Dayna, the research and development groups in our newly formed subsidiaries will have more freedom to explore technologies and products for mobile computer users who need remote access over telephone lines, as well as wide-area wireless communications, said the company’s president and chief executive, Brad Romney. In the restructuring, several of Dayna’s engineering and product marketing staff will transfer to the new ventures. The as yet unnamed units will be headed by two members of Dayna’s existing senior management team, Lynn Alley and Dana Harrison. Meantime in July, Dayna plans to introduce a new line of 100Mbps Fast Ethernet products that are expected to include NuBus and Peripheral Component Interconnect boards, a 100Base-T hub and a 10/100Mbps bridge.
