WAN optimisation product maker Silver Peak has announced the testing and pre-validation of the VMware vSphere 6 Replication solution, which is designed to speed up remote replication.
Silver Peak offers a software-based approach to data acceleration, which can overcome WAN distance, bandwidth, and quality obstacles, and helps IT professionals meet recovery point objectives (RPO).
VMware vSphere 6 Replication facilitates deployment data protection solution which is flexible and is free from storage lock-in, which plays an important part during disaster recovery process.
Silver Peak’s WAN optimisation software is designed to replicate more VM data in less time, and over longer distances.
According to Silver Peak, a network optimised by its solution will be capable of delivering 45 Mbps link with throughput of 365 Mbps or greater.
Silver Peak claims that its software is solves WAN performance problems by deduplicating and compressing WAN traffic.
Separately, hyperconverged infrastructure provider SimpliVity said that it will also offer support for the new VMware vSphere 6.
SimpliVity CEO Doron Kempel said: "Vendors are under pressure to say they have a hyperconverged solution because they know this is what today’s CIO wants: cloud economics with enterprise capabilities."
The company will also provide support for the Intel Haswell processor to boost performance of OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure system, and adding the SimpliVity OmniStack Integrated Solution with Cisco UCS C240 M4 Rack Server systems to its portfolio.
SimpliVity will provide support for the new Intel Haswell processor starting from the end of the first quarter for its OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure platform and extend its support for Cisco UCS systems.
It will allow customers to leverage SimpliVity’s OmniStack hyperconverged infrastructure platform with Cisco UCS C240 M4 Server Rack systems.
