Microsoft has acquired US based people analytics solution provider VoloMetrix to improve organisation productivity.
Started over 4 years ago, with offices in Seattle and San Francisco, the company uses big data to optimise organisational performance.
It uses technology to analyse aggregated collaboration data anonymously, extracting insights which can be used to assess how employee behaviors drive business outcomes.
VoloMetrix’s solution provides executives visibility into day to day activities and relationships which can help companies improve organisational alignment, drive sales, and promote employee engagement.
Following the acquisition, Microsoft will integrate VoloMetrix’ experience, technology with Office 365 and previously announced Delve Organizational Analytics.
VoloMetrix CEO and co-founder Ryan Fuller said in a blogpost: "Microsoft has a huge vision to reinvent productivity and a set of assets in Office 365 that are fundamental to how work gets done.
"By joining them we will be able to continue to pursue our shared mission and have impact at a staggering global scale.
"Over the coming months, you can expect to hear more from us about new capabilities we will be rolling out, new investments in our partner eco-system and more."
Microsoft Outlook and Office 365 corporate vice president Rajesh Jha said: "I am excited about this big step forward in our company ambition to reinvent productivity and business process, and how it will deliver new value to our customers with organisational analytics.
"We expect to launch an early preview programme for Delve Organizational Analytics within the next month, and general availability of the initial release of the integrated Office 365 service by the end of this calendar year."
Financial terms of the acquisition have not been revealed.
