An e-commerce expert has been lined up to examine why more SMEs have not moved to the cloud when he speaks at an expo later this month.

Eric Diamond, CEO and founder of Tribeca Cloud, which helps businesses set up websites and apps through the online platform, believes diminishing security and privacy fears will drive migration but said it has not happened yet.

He said: "The cloud offers significant advantages for small business such as reduced up-front costs, easy scalability, increased efficiency and access to enterprise-level technology. Yet it still hasn’t been fully embraced by the masses.

"Fortunately, businesses are becoming more knowledgeable about the cloud, concerns over security and privacy are diminishing, and more and innovative services are making it easier to get onboard."

He will speak on the subject at the Cloud4SMB Expo in Las Vegas on August 27.
