CA Technologies has said that its new ERwin Data Modeler r8 offering provides visualisation tools to help users represent data that is managed in multiple systems, applications, platforms and locations.
The offering enables users to manage the migration of data to the cloud and other new forms of IT infrastructure.
ERwin Data Modeler r8 provides a simple, intuitive way to visualise complex data structures, with a customisable environment from an interface to back-end database script generation to deliver a personalised data modeling experience.
In addition, the offering’s advanced data model visualisation capabilities make it easy for development teams, technology partners and business users to collaborate on complex data structures, said the company.
This is expected to allow organisations to optimise their applications for both technical performance and alignment with business requirements through: strategic use of information assets; confident transition to cloud computing and other XaaS models; and visibility into and control over compliance-related data management issues.
The new offering also features embedded integration with SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence (BI) offerings and SAP Crystal Reports software for enterprise-wide reporting.
Further, the new offering includes extended support for IBM DB2 for z/OS and LUW v9.x to ease use of partitioning, global temporary tables, compression, nicknames, column "labels," XML data types, and query optimisation syntax, said the company.
