Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co Ltd, Kyoto, Japan has bought a controlling interest in Island for an un disclosed sum. Dainippon is invest ing in Island as part of its commit ment to remaining at the leading edge of pre-press product develop ment for the graphic arts industry, and has commissioned Island to des ign and develop software for its new generation of workstation-based col our pre press products, as yet unan nounced. Island specialises in des ign and development of custom graph ics software under OEM agreements.
