With visions of navigating over two different kinds of highway at once, Daimler-Benz AG plans to equip its Mercedes E420 car with full driver and passenger access to the web. The company maintains that the Web Car is only a demonstration and that commercial applications will not see the light of day for at least five years. This follows its introduction of the Intelligent Traffic Guide system into its E-class cars last month (CI No 3,139).
