Computer Sciences Corp insists it had held two brief meetings with unsolicited bidder Computers Associates International Inc, but there had been no serious negotiations or any agreement reached on the possibility of an acquisition. CA has left a $9bn offer for CSC sitting on the table, which if accepted, would create a 51,000 employee, $11bn company (CI No 3,346). CSC says only that it will respond to the offer when it has been fully evaluated by management, the board of directors and professional advisers and urges its shareholders to sit tight and wait for the company’s decision.
