Covad’s ClearEdge Integrated Access combines voice and data into a single connection so that broadband, VoIP, email and Web hosting services can be billed together. It is now being bundled with Cisco’s Unified CallManager Express, which is part of Cisco’s Internet Services Routers that enables call processing for Cisco Unified IP phones.
The integration of the products promises faster VoIP deployments and with better results, said the companies.
The deal also means Covad and Cisco channel partners will be able to earn both up-front margins on Cisco gear and ongoing commission from Covad, said Covad’s chief marketing officer Eric Weiss, in a statement.
This joint offering will increase our presence in the $30 billion small business communications market, he said.
