AMD said that developers can acquire fully configured ATI Stream technology enabled development platforms from Colfax and Exxact. The new systems provide developers and researchers with development platforms, leveraging the AMD GPU architecture along with AMD’s OpenCL 1.0-compliant ATI Stream SDK 2.0 to deliver up to 2.72 TFLOPS of compute performance.

The company said that the systems feature a mix of AMD CPUs and chipsets and the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series graphic processors.

According to AMD, the Colfax CX1250 features single AMD PhenomTM II X4 processor up to 3.4GHz; DDR3 memory up to 16GB; up to 4 SATA drives with RAID; and AMD 790FX Chipset. The CX1450 features Dual Six-Core Opteron 2000 Series processors; DDR2 ECC registered memory of 128 GB; Hot Swap SATA/SAS Drives with RAID up to 8; and AMD SR5690 Chipset.

The Exxact delivers low cost entry level system supporting two video cards and high end system with four video cards. It features single AMD Phenom II X4 processor up to 3.4GHz; DDR3 memory of 16GB; two double wide ATI cards; two SATA drives with RAID; and AMD 790FX chipset. The high end system includes dual six-core Opteron 2000 series CPUs; DDR2 ECC registered memory of 128GB; four double wide AMD video cards; eight hot swap SATA drives with RAID; and dual AMD SR5690 chipsets.

Patricia Harrell, director of stream computing at AMD, said: “Developers have been very enthusiastic about the ATI Stream SDK and its support for industry standard OpenCL on both GPUs and CPUs. These high-performance platforms from Colfax and Exxact help developers to immediately realise the benefits of ATI Stream technology.”
