Enterprise mobility vendor Codegate has launched a new mobile workforce management software platform, aimed at enabling small businesses to monitor, measure and manage their workers in the field.
The platform, called mobilevantage, is aimed at businesses with a mobile workforce ranging between five and 50. The platform is available from £1 per day, per user.
Codegate says the platform can offer increased productivity and efficiency while improving customer service and retention rates through online traceability and reporting.
Terran Churcher, managing director at Codegate claimed that the company identified a gap in the market, where companies often manage their mobile workforce manually, opening up the possibility of keying errors.
“Our experience has shown that the majority of small businesses manage their mobile field workers through mobile phone calls, manually completed job sheets that are prone to human error, e-mail and paper based spreadsheet systems,” Churcher said. “This leads to huge amounts of time being wasted when scheduling work appointments, re-keying information from job sheets and determining the status of existing jobs.”
Churcher added that there was a lack of access to real-time information such as the whereabouts of mobile workers, which can increase the time it takes to assign agents to jobs.
Mobilevantage runs on any Windows Mobile-enabled device and is configurable off the shelf, although Codegate can also carry out initial installation and configuration of the software if required.
Once installed, the software features job exporting and reporting, back-end capture of job information, diary synchronisation and job scheduling, automatic date and time stamping, customisable drop down menus covering materials and parts, two way messaging, vehicle safety check and tracking and optional satellite navigation, the company said.
Mobilevantage features a lone worker alarm system, which enables a mobile worker to alert the head office if they believe they are in danger. It can also help companies comply with health and safety regulations by requiring drivers to check oil, tyres and lights on company vehicles.
“In today’s tough economic climate small businesses understand that they need to increase productivity, efficiency and profitability at the same time as controlling operating costs. Mobilevantage delivers the increased management capability to enable these objectives to be met and importantly, allows the small business to compete on a more level playing field with larger organisations. Mobilevantage gives small businesses the confidence to throw away their paper based management systems and transform their business,” said Churcher.
